Hello and welcome!

I hope you come by often.

 

My name is Tammy Petry and I am a writer.  I  like to think of myself as a cross-blend of the four famous ladies from "Sex and the City"--Miranda, the feminist; Samantha, the goddess;  Charlotte, the planner; and of course, Carrie, the writer.     I think ALL women are a magickal combonation of these and many other attributes and qualities, but I will stick with these for the time being. 

 

 I am in the process of setting up my very first BLOG so I can write about all the random things that pass thru my grey matter.  Every once in a while I amaze myself with wonderful ideas, cheesy poems, witty sayings or even rare words of wisdom!  I can't promise you'll agree with everything I say, or that you'll even like it, but I do promise to be honest and write from my heart...always.

 

I am also in the very early stages of setting up my long-awaited home-based business.  I will get to incorporate my writing and a number of topics that I am passionate about.  More on that soon!  Please keep dropping by.

 

One thing I really enjoy is learning about and teaching others about history.  I am very interested in American and European history, military history and also in the history of religion worldwide.  Personally I am Pagan/Wiccan but don't worry, I don't try to preach or force MY views on anyone.  I believe to each his/her own really.  It's a personal choice.  Kinda like putting the toilet paper over or under.  You decide. :D

 

 

Over in the box at the right I've included a link to my personal email as well as a link to Netflix, in case you'd like to go watch SATC the movies 1 and 2.  They have a free trial offer and it's one of the few things out there I've actually kept after the trial is up.  I don't get anything for saying this, I just thought I'd pass it on.  Netflix rocks!

 

In honor of Mother's Day coming up on Sunday I have placed this gif image here.  My mom doesn't like computers much and I've promised her I would not throw around pics of her, so out of respect I use this image instead.  If you ever read my page Mom, I do love and appreciate and miss you very much.

Film recommendation for the week:   "Heart of the Beholder".  Based on a true story.   Extreme right-wing groups cause tragedy and turmoil for an upstanding family who owns a video store in St. Louis over their choice of VHS tape rentals.

 

03 May 2011 Film Recommendation: "The Young Victoria".  Historical period piece. Very well done all the way around.  Similar to "The Other Boelyn Girl" and "Elizabeth".  You see where I'm going with this, right?  Okay good!

 

Over-rated film of the week:  "127 Hours".  Yeah, that's EXACTLY HOW LONG THE RUNTIME FEELS LIKE WHEN YOU'RE WATCHING IT...127 HOURS! :(
